Spicy Swede (Or Sweet Potato) Burger
(makes 4-6 burgers)
1 swede (or 2 sweet potatoes), peeled and diced
1 onion, finely chopped
2tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
2 tsp ground cumin
1/8tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp ground ginger
  1tsp turmeric
A handful of finely chopped parsley or coriander
2 slices wholewheat bread
Peel and cut the swede into 1cm cubes and set to boil in a large pan with water covering it. Meanwhile, cook the garlic and onion in a large skillet or large boiling pan in 1tbsp olive oil. Blitz the bread in a blender until you have fine breadcrumbs. Once the swede or sweet potato has cooked drain it and throw it in the pan with the onion and garlic. Add the spices and mix well. Then remove from the heat and mash the mixture together. Leave to cool for a while.
Put the breadcrumbs into a shallow dish. Once the mixture is cool make into patties with your hands. Roll them in the breadcrumbs making sure not to break the patties. Place on another plate until you have done the whole mixture. Add more oil to a large frying pan and add half of the patties, making sure not to crowd the pan. Turn over once one side is crispy. Keep them on a plate in the oven on a low temperature to keep warm whilst you’re cooking the other batch. Serve with soy yogurt dip and salad or on a wholewheat bun with avocado and lettuce leaves.
(Note; this doesnt actually take as long to cook as it seems and is actually really simple, PROMISE!)

A clever little bee over at Flossbox has taken some beautiful photos of different kinds of embroidery stitching. How lovely! I can’t wait to get into some embroidery and try these out.

BagBook Number Two.This one is a bit prettier than the first one i made. Although i stupidly made the inside pannels too small again and had to cover spaces with felt. Theres also glue everywhere which isn’t cool y’know. But this one had poppers, which will always be rad! It’s also a much prettier book with nicer handles, longer handles too!

Please like if you think this is a cool idea and would think about buying one!

Also, i’ll be making many more, including Harry Potter ones. So if you’d like either this one or any book of your choice turned into a bag Ask me about that here: http://juststrange.tumblr.com/ask
